Porque o amor, the new single by Italian-Portuguese singer-songwriter Anna Luana Tallarita, is now available on all digital platforms. It is the Portuguese version of the single “Perché l’amore”, released in July. The song stands out for its refined style, blending electronic sounds, tango, and beguine rhythms with profound lyrics exploring the fragility and possibilities of love.
In the song, love is portrayed as a hope that endures even after betrayals and disappointments. It tells the story of a disillusioned man who, through an authentic and sincere relationship, rediscovers the possibility of genuine feelings. The song addresses universal themes of trust, vulnerability, desire, and emotional redemption.
Two languages, one heart.
Alongside the Italian version, the Portuguese version, “Porque o amor”, has been released, with a lyrical adaptation that preserves the original meaning while adding poetic and musical nuances typical of the Lusitanian language. This dual version highlights the artist’s connection to her international roots and Portuguese culture.
The atmosphere is melancholic, sensual, and summery, with a cinematic touch.
Anna Luana’s Vocal Interpretation
In Italian, her diction is measured, almost theatrical, with words articulated to feel intimate and narrative. In Portuguese, her vocal style softens: the language flows more smoothly, creating a more melodic and musical effect.
Anna Luana Tallarita manages to create two souls from the same song: Perché l’amore is an emotional story heard with the mind and heart; Porque o amor is a sentimental melody felt with the body and skin. This dual version is not just a linguistic adaptation but a true artistic and cultural work, showing how love, when told authentically, can speak many languages and touch each one differently.
An original production, the single is produced by EJ Ecam Jazzitude Production, arranged by musician Gianpierre Espinoza Paz (aka Mr. Pc), and recorded between Milan and Lisbon. The arrangement blends electronic sounds, Latin rhythms, acoustic instruments, and influences of tango and beguine, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere.
The balance between acoustic and digital instruments creates an emotional backdrop that supports the voice without overpowering it. The musical structure remains coherent and strong in both versions, which is one of its main strengths.
In Perché l’amore, the voice is reflective and narrated, with softer, more plaintive tones. In Porque o amor, the voice is warmer and more melodic, with natural musicality typical of Portuguese. The Portuguese language allows for more lyrical nuances, ideal for emotional passages, while Italian gives the lyrics conceptual clarity and expressive strength.
Moreover, the Italian version features more direct, almost confessional lyrics, conveying the weight of experience, betrayal, and vulnerability. The Portuguese version, while maintaining the overall meaning, is enriched with poetic nuances typical of the Lusitanian language: love here is more contemplated than analyzed.
Perché l’amore presents a clear, human, and almost rational discourse, whereas Porque o amor blurs the line between feeling and dream, between pain and beauty.
The official video of the Italian version was filmed in Monte Sant’Angelo, a picturesque Apulian village and UNESCO World Heritage site, chosen for its strong spiritual significance. The imagery celebrates devotion to Saint Michael and pays tribute to the cultural identity of the territory. A music video for the Portuguese version will follow.
